October at Spring Valley means annual PDGA tournament. Known for many years as the Spring Valley Spectacular, we made it into a commemorative event when our good friend Troy Kirkpatrick left us two years ago because of brain cancer. The Spring Valley Spectacular Troy Kirkpatrick Memorial brings us all together to talk about him, raise donations for his daughters and the American Brain Tumor Association and test your DG game on his favorite local course. This year will be very much about that!

The normal Tournament Director of the SVSTKM (this editor) has been called away this year and will not be on the forefront steering the days event. I have been invited to the International Disc Golf Center to be inducted to the Disc Golf Hall of Fame!! It just so happens to be on the same annual weekend as the SVSTKM... but not to worry!!

All preparations for the SVSTKM are already underway and the days competition will be overseen by Northside Chain Gang President (and SVSTKM TD Pro Team) Matt Stillwagon. So again... no worries as most of you already know we make a good team... especially if you attended the 2018 Texas States DGC this past April.

So get ready to play a special variety of flights lines at SV over 2 rounds of 20 holes that combines SV Power holes with the best of the Finesse holes. During Round 2 all players 18 and older can buy into the Swing King Hole In One Contest for a chance to win $1000.00. The contest hole is Finesse 14S and there are cameras watching!! Oh yea... did we mention this is a PDGA B tier, 80 players max, $500 added to the Pro payout, player pack for Ams and Southern Star waiting for you once your scorecard has been turned in.
